Volunteer with the Columbia Group!
Volunteers at work
The Sierra Club is the county's oldest and largest grassroots organization, which means volunteers run the Columbia Group and we need your help!!! Whatever your interests or skills, we have just the right opportunity for you!
You can jump right in by offering to help with one of our current volunteer opportunities. Or come to a meeting or event to get to know folks and talk to someone about how you’d like to get involved. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to volunteering with the Columbia Group, we can’t wait to see you!

We have lots of opportunities for you to get involved! Whether it’s helping with a campaign event, serving on a committee, lending a hand in the office, or attending an outing, we’d love to have you! Check out the list of Volunteer Opportunities!
Tell your friends to get involved
The surest way we all can make a difference is by telling our friends about the environmental issues we care about and by encouraging them to get involved, too. Ask a friend to come to or, better yet, help out at a Columbia Group event with you. Two sets of hands are always better than one!

Outings Co-Chair
Do you love the outdoors, have outdoor leadership experience, and enjoy some administrative duties too? If you are already a certified Sierra Club outings leader or wish to become certified, consider helping out in Outings leadership. Duties would involve expanding outings diversity, communications, website postings, event planning, and/or helping support Columbia Group goals and activities. This is a fun position with a great group of outdoors and conservation-oriented folks.

Political Committee
Volunteers are also needed to help prepare candidate questionnaires, determine which races are most important in advancing Sierra Club’s goals, and to be involved in candidate interview panels. This is a great opportunity to be effective in ensuring the success of environmental candidates as many voters place a high priority on Sierra Club endorsements.

Program night/events committee members
Committee members needed to help organize interesting programs and events that will be fun but also raise awareness of environmental problems.
