What is a Sierra Club chapter or group?

Your chapter gives you the opportunity to get involved locally. The Sierra Club has chapters across the U.S. and Canada. Chapters offer opportunities for hikes and other outings (most of the outings are at the "group" level) in the Oregon Chapter, activism on local and state issues, and much more.

Each Sierra Club chapter comprises one or more groups. The Oregon Chapter has five groups. Groups concentrate their activity on a small geographical area. Through your Sierra Club group, you can get involved in issues that directly effect your local area.
