News, Events, Announcements, & Opportunities!
Email List - The Many Rivers Group has started an email list of its members and friends so that we can contact people rapidly for action alerts, volunteer needs and upcoming events. If you would like to be on this list go to Oregon Many Rivers News and sign up. Hope to see you there soon!

Executive Committee Elections Coming Soon - An election for several positions on the Many Rivers Group of the Sierra Club Executive Committee will be held in December. If you ever desired to represent members across Coos, Douglas, and Lane Counties for conservation issues close to your heart, this is your opportunity. The minimum monthly time commitment is approximately three hours. The opportunities to connect with members at the local, State, and National level are exciting, and the possibilities are endless.

Interested candidates should write a two paragraph bio and mention your environmental interests. Become an Executive Member and join energetic and fun activists working on local issues in your community. The deadline for submitting a bid for the December election is November 1st. E-mail questions and bids to: Peter.Saraceno@oregon.sierraclub.org

The Arctic Quest: A Multimedia Presentation of Author and Photographers trek through Alaska. - On Wednesday, November 1, Native Forest Council and the Many Rivers Group will host activist, writer, photographer, and adventurer Chad Kister at the Eugene Public Library in the Tykeson Room at 6 p.m. Kister will present a slideshow of his journeys through Alaska’s Tongass National Forest and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, recounting his harrowing trek across the Coastal Plain, his experiences with the native peoples, and his first-hand witnessing of the devastating effects of climate change.
