Solar Program Options
We are proud to be partnered with RS Energy, a local installation company that offers the choice of using local SolarWorld modules and union electricians for all Sierra Club projects.
They have also promised to extend solar pricing that is lower than any other "Solarize" or "Bulk Purchase Program" in the state.
An exciting development in Oregon has made solar more affordable and convenient than ever before. In 2011, SunRun was approved to offer solar power purchase agreements in our state. With their program you purchase solar power, not solar panels.
SunRun Solar Power
- Average one-time cost of $5,000 - $8,000 for 20 years of solar power (depends on size)
- SunRun owns, insures, maintains and repairs the solar equipment on your roof
- You enjoy reduced utility bills from all of the solar power produced by the system
- Most homeowners are eligible for a $6,000 state tax credit, which repays the bulk of the one-time cost.
Purchase to Own
- Average cost of $10,000 - $15,000
- RS Energy installer warranty of 10 years / Module warranty of 25 years / Inverter warranty of 10 – 25 years (depending on manufacturer)
- You enjoy reduced utility bills from all of the solar power produced by the system
- Homeowner eligible for a 30% Federal Tax Credit and up to $6,000 in state tax credits
During the initial phone call RS Energy will walk you through a program summary, talk about a few of your options, and answer any questions you have.
After RS Energy performs the on-site solar evaluation at your home, they will give you specific details on the cost of your system, the annual energy savings, and the expected payback period for your investment.
